At Jerry & Co. Home Improvement, we recently completed a comprehensive Carpentry and Tile Installation project in Cambridge. The assignment involved the revival of a bathroom floor that had significantly suffered from water damage. We found the subfloor sheathing completely rotted due to prolonged exposure to water. Given the property’s age, the floor joists below the damaged area required leveling before reinstalling the sheathing. After replacing the sheathed layers, we added a cement board as a tile-backing layer, topped with a waterproofing membrane to defend against future damage. This project ultimately became a total floor makeover. Our approach ensured the rebuild would be lasting and robust. We then retiled the floor, along the adjacent wall perimeter, to produce a waterproof floor covering.
